A Quick Guide to Rodeo Events
Since the Red Lodge Home of Champions Rodeo is a PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) sanctioned event, there are seven core events. Cowboys in the Big Sky Circuit--or those hoping for a shot at the finals--can compete here, and their winnings count toward season and career totals.

Even Non-Bikers have Fun at Iron Horse Rodeo!
One of the highlights of the Beartooth Rally is the Iron Horse Rodeo. Held at the Carbon County Fairgrounds on Sunday, July 20, it gives bikers a chance to compete for $1,000 in cash & prizes and gives spectators a good, hearty laugh.

Keeping the Cowboys Safe & Healthy
The theme for this year's Home of Champions Rodeo is "There's Lotsa Work Behind the Show." Red Lodge Loves a Parade!
When you think about the big local events in July, the first things that come to mind are the Home of Champions Rodeo and the Beartooth Rally/Iron Horse Rodeo. The Beartooth Rally is big, all right, and there are certainly locals involved, but it's mostly an out-of-town event. If you hit the street dances, you're not going to find a lot of Carbon County residents. Similarly, the Rodeo is a big event, but most of the participants are out-of-towners.

The Linderman Award
The rodeo here in Red Lodge is called the "Home of Champions," because there have been some amazing rodeo stars from here. The Greenough family, with Turk, Alice, Marge, and Deb; Bill Smith (the record books say he was from Cody, but we know where he spent his time); and Bud & Bill Linderman. All made their marks on rodeo nationally. Alice and Marge Greenough are in the Cowgirl Hall of Fame, and all five men are in the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Bud, Turk, and Bill each won three bronc-riding titles. Deb qualified for the National Finals Rodeo 13 times and was World Bareback Champion in 1993.
