Candidate Forum at the Elks (Jun 2010)

On June 3, the candidates running for office in Carbon County all gathered at the Beartooth Elks Club in Red Lodge for an open forum (also see our Justice of the Peace interviews from the May issue).

Red Lodge High School Graduation 2010 (May 2010)

May 30, 2010 was probably the last graduation that will ever take place at the Civic Center in Red Lodge, as the school has received grant money to finish building out the auditorium at the new school. The class of 2010 handled it with style!

Frosty February (Feb 2010)

In early February, fog descended upon Red Lodge as temperatures were dropping. Add in a slight breeze, and we got beautiful patterns of frost--often on just one side of a branch or radio antenna. Chain-link fences turned solid, and mundane objects became objets d'art.

Robert Burns Supper 2010 (Jan 2010)

Saturday, January 30 was Red Lodge's biggest Scottish celebration of the year: Robert Burns night. This year, the party was held at the Elks, with piping, fiddling, singing, eating, drinking, poetry, dancing, and (of course) haggis!

Mountain Springs Villa Fundraiser/Move-in Party (Nov 2009)

Saturday, November 7 was the big move-in party and fundraiser for the residents at Mountain Springs Villa trailer park (see the article in the November Rag). Everyone gathered at the Elks Club in Red Lodge for food, drinks, music, raffle prizes, and a silent auction.

Montgomery Gentry/Lost Trailers Concert (Sep 2009)

On Friday, September 4, Montgomery Gentry played for a crowd of about 3,500 at the rodeo grounds in Red Lodge, with special guests the Lost Trailers. The concert was a fundraiser for the Red Lodge Boys and Girls Club.
